How Much is This?"How much is this?" a woman asked, holding up a bag of Jade gummy candy. "Is this 99 cents?" "Mom," her daughter protested with annoyance and embarrassment. "Where are we? The 99 Cent Store." She looked away in disgust, probably regretting that she came to the store with the one that gave birth to her. "Yes Ma'am, that's correct," I replied, keeping composure. If the frequency of that question could fuel my college fund, I wouldn't have to depend on my parents to pay tuition. I rung up their purchase and wished them a great evening. Walking down the hallway, my footsteps resonated in the empty space that was lined with bluish mirrored windows along one side.
